RED: The most common strain used. Typically offers a more sedating experience. Also attributed to better painkilling aspects. Usually requires smaller doses than other strains. Starting dose, 3-4 grams.
GREEN: Probably the widest variation of experiences. Often less sedating than a red strain, but still effective as a painkiller. The doses will vary more than any other strains. Starting dose, 3-6 grams.
WHITE: My personal preference. A much more energetic experience as opposed to most red strains. Usually requires a larger dose than other strains. Starting dose, 4-6 grams.
S&V: Stem and vein. Used to reset tolerance and taper down. Dosage will depend on your current tolerance. Not exactly a strain, and usually a collective of leftovers from several strains. The alkaloids present in the leaf are present in the stem and vein, at lower levels.
If you decide to try extracts (I'm going to again suggest sticking to plain leaf) start with .5 to a single gram. Kratom has a low ceiling, meaning you can't keep taking more to get a stronger experience. If you feel nausea or what they call "wobbly-eyes" you've definitely reached your limit. Wobbly-eyes is exactly what it sounds like. It's difficult to explain, but easily definable once you've experienced it yourself. If you take too much, you'll experience flu like symptoms and probably purge. There have been zero deaths attributed to only kratom use.
Start with small doses until you find your "sweet spot". Like I mentioned earlier, changing strains occasionally will increase the longevity and effectiveness of your kratom.
